ATN Scholars Program

The U.S. Adolescent Medicine Trials Network for HIV Interventions (ATN) Scholars Program seeks to provide scholars with the knowledge, skills and connections to further their careers as independent investigators in the adolescent HIV prevention and care research field.

Applications for ATN Scholars Program 2025-2026 cycle are now CLOSED

The program seeks to increase opportunities for scientists from groups under-represented in HIV research. Successful applicants will be investigators who have received their terminal degree (MD, PhD, etc.). Scholars are provided funding to cover a portion of their time and expenses (typically 10-20% FTE), including travel to bi-annual ATN meetings and research materials/supplies. Successful applicants will be funded for 18 months, subject to certain restrictions. Selected scholars will be paired with a mentoring team who meet regularly during the year, will be paired with an ATN mentor and study to develop a research question and secondary analysis to conduct during the scholar program and will have opportunities for networking within the program. Scholars are expected to submit at least one manuscript for publication from the mentored ATN research study and a product for dissemination to community members/participants (e.g., video, infographic, etc.) at the end of the fellowship and to present their findings at a bi-annual ATN meeting.
